Hi everyone. I’m trying to install the Arducam 64MP Hawk Eye driver on my Pi 4 and the install script keeps failing. It prints:
Cannot find the corresponding package, please send the following information to [email protected]
Hardware Revision: d03115
Kernel Version: 5.15.84-v8+
Package: 64mp_pi_hawk_eye_kernel_driver – bullseye-arm64-v5
You are using an unsupported kernel version, please install the official SD Card image(do not execute rpi-update)
Does the driver really not exist for 5.15.84-v8+, or am I doing something wrong?
We actually released a fresh 64MP driver build for kernel 5.15.84 today, so try the install again first and it may now match your kernel/package combination. One thing to note: 5.15.84-v8+ usually means the kernel came from rpi-update, not the standard Raspberry Pi OS image. If the package still isn’t found, flash the official Raspberry Pi OS image (do NOT run rpi-update) and then reinstall the Arducam camera driver.
Thanks. After reinstalling the driver, the package installs now, but libcamera-hello still says no cameras available. I’m on a Raspberry Pi 4, kernel 5.15.84-v8+, libcamera v0.0.2+55-5df5b72c.

So I uncommented the cma line so it now has:
dtoverlay=arducam_64mp
dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d,cma-512
Rebooted, ran libcamera-hello again:

From that log, the sensor is being found on I2C, but libcamera fails to initialize it: it can’t open the dw9807 lens/VCM device (‘/dev/v4l-subdev1’: Invalid argument), the arducam_64mp IPA config/camera helper is missing, and camera registration fails with -22. That points to a driver/libcamera mismatch rather than a hardware fault. Let’s get a full diagnostic. Please reboot, then run:
Thanks, got it. Before we go further, there’s a line I’ve highlighted in a screenshot from /boot/config.txt. Can you make sure that line is uncommented (released) and then re-run the bug-report script? It’s related to the vc4-kms-v3d/cma-512 entry.
I uncommented it and rebooted, then re-ran the script. Here’s the relevant output.

config.txt now has dtoverlay=arducam_64mp and dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d,cma-512. The overlays arducam-64mp.dtbo and arducam_64mp.dtbo are present in /boot/overlays, and arducam_64mp.ko.xz plus dw9807-vcm.ko.xz are in /lib/modules/5.15.84-v8+/kernel/drivers/media/i2c.
Your report is really useful. The sensor is present (dmesg shows ‘Device found Arducam 64MP’) and the overlays/kernel modules are installed, but you’re still running the stock Raspberry Pi libcamera build (0~git20230105+5df5b72c-1). Stock libcamera doesn’t ship the arducam_64mp.json IPA config or the matching camera helper, and it isn’t driving the dw9807 correctly (that I2C write CTL fail ret = -121), which is why the camera never registers.
Thank you, I can now capture images. But I still have warnings and an error on still, video and raw capture. libcamera is now v0.0.0+3897-c3c878a9.

libcamera-vid --autofocus runs until timeout (‘Halting: reached timeout of 5000 milliseconds.’), and libcamera-raw -t 2000 -o test.raw reports ‘Raw stream: 1280x720 stride 1600 format SBGGR10_CSI2P’, but they show the same WARN/ERROR lines. Should I be worried about those?
Glad it’s capturing. Those remaining messages are non-fatal and can be ignored. The ‘No static properties available for arducam_64mp’ warning and the ‘Mismatch between Unicam and CamHelper for embedded data usage’ warning are cosmetic for this sensor. The DelayedControls error for control id 0x009a090a just means that particular control isn’t exposed by /dev/v4l-subdev0, and it doesn’t stop capture. Your log shows the camera correctly registered to Unicam device /dev/media3 and ISP device /dev/media4, with the sensor at 4624x3472-SBGGR10, and you got ‘Still capture image received’. No further action needed.
