Hey everyone, having a rough time with my stereo camera setup. My Arducam Camarray Stereo HAT let out a pop and died on me when it made contact with ground. I’m trying to figure out if there’s any way to get it running again before I give up on this thing.

Sure. It’s the Arducam 12MP2 Synchronized Stereo Camera Bundle Kit for Raspberry Pi. It comes with two 12.3MP IMX477 camera modules with CS lenses and the Arducam Camarray Stereo Camera HAT, running on a Raspberry Pi 4. The HAT has four ports labeled MIPI RX0 through MIPI RX3. Before it failed, I was using MIPI RX0 and MIPI RX1 and it worked fine, but the connectors for both of those ports have become damaged. So my question is: is it possible to use MIPI RX2 and MIPI RX3 instead on this HAT? If so, is there anything special I need to do?
Got it, thanks for the details. To answer directly: no, that won’t work. It is not possible to use MIPI RX2 port and MIPI RX3 port on the HAT board because this hat kit is designed as a dual channel kit instead of a quad channel kit.
Hmm, that’s what I was afraid of. Just so I understand it correctly - the board has four labeled ports, so why can’t RX2 and RX3 be used? They look physically identical to the others.
Yeah, the four ports are a bit misleading. The Arducam Camarray Stereo Camera HAT is limited to dual-channel operation on MIPI RX0 and MIPI RX1, even though there are four labeled ports (RX0 through RX3). Only RX0 and RX1 are actually supported, and RX2 and RX3 cannot be used at all. That means they can’t be used as replacements for the damaged RX0 and RX1 connectors. To restore proper operation you would need a replacement board.
