Can I use another GPIO pin for Multi Camera Adapter Doubleplexer Stereo Module V2?

Hi all, I’m trying to stack a Multi Camera Adapter Doubleplexer Stereo Module V2 on top of an existing Raspberry Pi addon. The problem is the other addon is already using GPIO 17 (pin 11). I was looking to wire the Multi Camera Adapter to another GPIO pin instead. Am I able to use any of the other GPIO pins or are there certain pins I have to use?

Can you list which pins the Multi Camera Adapter is currently using in your setup? That will help confirm what can be moved and what can’t.

From what I can see the module uses pin 1 (3.3V), pin 3 (SDA1/GPIO 2), pin 5 (SCL1/GPIO 3), pin 6 (GND), pin 7 (GPIO 4), and pin 11 (GPIO 17). I was hoping to just replace GPIO 17 with a different free GPIO.

Thanks. I checked the pin mapping for the Multi Camera Adapter Doubleplexer Stereo Module V2. It uses pins 1 (3.3V), 3 (SDA1/GPIO 2), 5 (SCL1/GPIO 3), 6 (GND), 7 (GPIO 4), and 11 (GPIO 17). The GPIO assignment on this module is fixed - GPIO 17 on pin 11 is a designated pin for the adapter, not something that can be moved. So unfortunately we’re unable to wire up another GPIO to the Multi Camera Adapter.

Thanks for checking. Just to understand why though - isn’t GPIO 17 just toggled low on this module? Wouldn’t I be able to replicate that behavior with another GPIO that’s free?

Right, but the module’s board routing and driver treat GPIO 17 as the dedicated control pin. It’s not a generic ‘pick any GPIO’ line - the adapter expects that specific pin, so there’s no supported way to remap it. As it stands, if GPIO 17 is already taken by your other addon, the Multi Camera Adapter V2 won’t stack cleanly. The current conclusion is: the module has a fixed GPIO mapping on pins 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 11, and GPIO 17 (pin 11) cannot be changed to another GPIO.
