Hi everyone, I’m trying to get an Arducam SKU B0223 (IMX219, lot code 20251215) working on my Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit. I followed the Jetvariety quick start guide and ran install_full.sh, but it fails saying it can’t find a matching deb package.
I also tried this same camera on a Raspberry Pi 5 with no luck — I’m guessing I might have the wrong ribbon cable for that one.
Has anyone run into this? Any pointers would be appreciated.
Cannot find the corresponding deb package, please send the following information to [email protected]
Kernel version: 5.10.192-tegra-35.5.0-20240613202628
Jetson type: NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit
And my kernel is 5.10.192-tegra-35.5.0-20240613202628. The guide I followed is the one at the Jetvariety quick start page on the Arducam docs site.
Thanks for the detailed info. I can see the problem right away.
Your Xavier NX is running JetPack 5.1.3, which corresponds to kernel version 5.10.192-tegra-35.5.0. Unfortunately, this specific kernel version is not in Arducam’s pre-compiled binary driver support list — that’s why install_full.sh can’t locate a matching .deb package on the server. The script checks the kernel version on your board and then looks for a corresponding pre-built driver, but there simply isn’t one for that L4T release yet.
The current path forward is to downgrade your JetPack version to one of the releases listed in that compatibility table, then re-run install_full.sh. It should be able to find the correct deb package after that.
Ah, that makes sense. I had a feeling it might be a version mismatch but wasn’t sure which side. I’ll look into downgrading JetPack to a supported version.
Any clarification on which version would be the safest bet? There are a few listed on that page and I’d rather not go through trial and error.
For the Xavier NX Developer Kit, JetPack 5.1.2 (L4T 35.4.1) is probably your best bet — it’s the closest to what you’re already running and is confirmed to have driver support. The jump down from 5.1.3 to 5.1.2 is minimal so you shouldn’t run into other compatibility surprises.
Once you’ve flashed it, just re-run install_full.sh and it should pick up the correct deb without issues.
Got it, I’ll go with 5.1.2 and report back. Quick question while I’m here — since I mentioned the Raspberry Pi 5 earlier, is this B0223 camera even compatible with the Pi 5? Or is that a dead end?
So on both fronts it’s not a dead end at all — the Jetson just needs a JetPack downgrade, and the Pi 5 just needs the right cable and dtoverlay config.
Appreciate the thorough breakdown. I’ll tackle the Jetson downgrade first since that’s my main project right now, and I’ll grab the right ribbon cable for the Pi 5 when I circle back to that. Thanks!
