Calculation and setting of exposure rate

  1. Where did you get the camera module(s)?
    Amicus Engineering

  2. Model number of the product(s)?
    EK013 (AR1820HS Eval Kit)

  3. What hardware/platform were you working on?
    Windows

  4. Instructions you have followed. (link/manual/etc.)
    Software Guide - Arducam

  5. Problems you were having?
In the link above, there is a brief instruction for controlling the exposure via the Windows GUI. However, it is not clear to me what are the definitions of those parameters (e.g., coarse_integration_time, frame_length_lines, coarse_integration_time_max_margin, line_length_pck_ register…).

For my project, I need to tune the exposure time of the rolling shutter camera to specific values. For example, like what we can do on a mobile phone cam, an exposure rate of 1000 means the exposure time per scanline is 1/1000s = 1ms. I would like to know how to set the exposure of the AR1820HS to such specific values.

  1. The dmesg log from your hardware?
  1. Troubleshooting attempts you’ve made?
  1. What help do you need?
Appreciate it if anyone could provide the clear definitions of those exposure-related parameters in the software guide doc (linked above), and advice on how to set the camera to the expected exposure rate. Thanks!
