Hi everyone, I’m having trouble getting my Arducam to capture data on a Jetson Orin Nano 4G running JetPack 5.1.2. It’s the B0429 model from the Jetson Nano/Xavier NX camera series. I’ve tried a few different video capture tools and SDKs but none of them could collect any data. Has anyone run into this? Any pointers would be appreciated.
Have you tried running the arducam_displayer.py script that comes with the driver? That’s usually the best first step to verify the camera is actually working, especially when v4l2-based capture is failing. You can find the instructions in the Jetvariety Camera Quick Start Guide under ‘2. Run the Camera’: Quick Start Guide - Arducam Wiki. Give that a shot and let us know what happens.
Thanks! Running arducam_displayer.py did the trick - the camera runs normally now. But I still have two remaining issues. First, when I do data acquisition at 720P with the BA10 format, I set the frame rate to 60 fps but the output still runs at 120 fps. Second, I’d like to swap to a different type of lens - are there other lens options available for this model?
Glad the camera is working now. For the frame rate issue, we need to know exactly how you’re changing it. Can you share the precise command or setting you used? A root cause hasn’t been determined yet, so the exact method matters. If you can also record a short video of the problem, that would make debugging much easier. For the lens question, that’s handled by the sales team - contact [email protected] and describe the type of lens you’re looking for.
I changed the frame rate through the capture settings when I set up the stream… I’m not 100% sure of the exact command off the top of my head. I can check the terminal history. Would a video help if the settings screen shows 60 but the actual output is still 120?
Right now the frame rate issue is still open - we can’t determine why it’s staying at 120 fps without seeing the exact command you’re using to set it to 60. So please pull that from your history or rerun it and paste it here, and if possible record a video showing the setting versus the actual output. That’ll let us narrow down whether it’s a driver limitation, a parameter issue, or something else. For the lens swap, support can’t handle that directly - send the details of the lens you want to [email protected] and they’ll check what options are available.
