Hi everyone, my Arducam Pivistation 5 Hawkeye 64MP PDAF all-in-one Raspberry Pi 5 camera streamer stopped working after a software upgrade. The camera itself still seems to work fine, but the streamer just won’t come up. Has anyone run into this?
After an upgrade, the libcamera stack and the Arducam overlays can get out of sync. First thing I’d try is updating libcamera. Follow the steps in this thread:
Give that a shot and let me know if the streamer comes back.
I followed those instructions but the streamer is still not working. Same symptom as before - the camera itself seems fine, it’s just the streamer that died after the upgrade. I took a screenshot of what I’m seeing.
Let’s pull a bug report so we can see what’s actually failing. Reboot the device first, then run:
wget -O arducam-camera-bug-report https://github.com/Dion4cen/arducam-camera-bug-report/releases/download/Tool/arducam-camera-bug-report
chmod +x ./arducam-camera-bug-report
./arducam-camera-bug-report
That creates an arducam-bug-report.txt in the current directory. Send it over and I’ll dig into it.
Ran the tool and sent the arducam-bug-report.txt over in a private message. From what I can tell, streaming to port 8080 is not working at all, but the camera itself works fine. I couldn’t find any documentation on how streaming on port 8080 is supposed to behave.
Can you check which streaming service is currently in use? Run:
systemctl status arducam_image_server.service
Then try switching to a different streaming service. I’ve sent you a screenshot privately showing the service selection screen - check your messages.
I want to use the Arducam original streamer at http://cam1:8080/stream (host is cam1, 192.168.1.65). The camera picture is not showing in the UI, and the Camera Status section shows no details. I can’t find any documentation on these features either.
Here’s the status output:
systemctl status arducam_image_server.service

Just bumping this - I haven’t heard back yet. Any thoughts on why port 8080 streaming won’t work even though the service shows as running?
Sorry for the delay. From the status you posted, arducam_image_server is loaded and active with PID 714, so the service itself is up - that points more toward a version mismatch after the upgrade than a dead service. Can you run this and paste the output so we can see exactly which Arducam packages are installed?
dpkg -l | grep arducam
