Hi everyone, I’ve got an Arducam 1/1.32″ 64MP OV64A40 image sensor and I’m trying to wire it up. Could someone share the connector pinout? The FPC cable looks like it’s 15-pin to 22-pin, and from what I can tell the MIPI CSI signal is only using 2 lanes for video. Is there any way to use the full 4 lanes of the MIPI CSI signal on this module? Here’s the connector on my board:
Hi, for the connector pinout, you can use the Raspberry Pi camera CSI connector pinout as the reference — the camera side is the standard 15-pin CSI connector. On the lane question: no, the full 4-lane MIPI CSI signal cannot be used on this module. The OV64A40’s MIPI CSI interface only supports 2 lanes for video transmission.
Thanks, that clears up the pinout side of things. Just to double check — is the 2-lane limit a hard limitation of the module itself, or is it just that the FPC cable is only routing 2 of the lanes?
It’s a hard limitation of the module itself. The MIPI CSI interface on the OV64A40 only brings out 2 usable lanes for video, so even with a different cable you won’t get the full 4-lane signal. Please stick with 2-lane MIPI CSI for this camera.
Understood. One more thing then — I’m still curious about the connector side of it. If I wanted to set things up around a full 4-lane MIPI CSI signal, could you describe the connector type and pinout that would be involved? This is the connector I’m looking at:
To wrap this up: the Arducam OV64A40 connector follows the Raspberry Pi camera CSI connector pinout, and its MIPI CSI signaling is limited to 2 lanes — a full 4-lane configuration is not supported on this module. So I can’t provide a 4-lane connector pinout for it; that capability simply isn’t available on the OV64A40.
