Hi everyone, I’m trying to get an ArduCAM IMX477 camera working on my Jetson Nano, but the install script keeps failing. I downloaded install_full.sh from the ArduCAM GitHub release and ran it, but it stops with: Cannot find the corresponding deb package, please send the above information to [email protected]. Has anyone run into this? Not sure if I’m doing something wrong.
Thanks for the details. Before we dig in, can you share a bit more about your setup? Which Jetson model are you using and what kernel version is currently running (you can check with uname -r)? Also, it’d help to see the exact commands you used.
Sure. It’s an NVIDIA Jetson Nano Developer Kit. Kernel version is 4.9.337-tegra-32.7.4-20230608212426. Here’s exactly what I ran:
cd ~
wget https://github.com/ArduCAM/MIPI_Camera/releases/download/v0.0.3/install_full.sh
chmod +x install_full.sh
./install_full.sh -m imx477
The error comes up when I run the last line.
Got it. Just to be sure I understand the steps you followed — did you do the full procedure, i.e. Step 1 download the bash scripts, then Step 2 install the driver with the -m imx477 flag? And the script fails at the deb package lookup, correct?
Yes, that’s right. I followed Step 1 (download the bash script) and Step 2 (install driver) exactly, and when I execute ./install_full.sh -m imx477 it errors out with that ‘Cannot find the corresponding deb package’ message.
Thanks, that clears it up. I checked your environment against our supported releases. Your kernel 4.9.337-tegra-32.7.4-20230608212426 corresponds to L4T 32.7.4, and I can confirm that we haven’t released the IMX477 camera driver for L4T 32.7.4 yet. So the install script can’t locate a matching deb package for your system — that’s the root cause of the error, not anything you did wrong on your end.
Ah, that makes sense. So what’s the best way forward? Do I need to change something on the Nano side to get this working?
Right, the fix is to re-flash your Jetson Nano to a JetPack version that’s on our supported list. You can find the supported versions here: Introduction to Arducam Jetson Cameras - Arducam Wiki
Once you’re on a supported JetPack version, the same install steps apply:
cd ~
wget https://github.com/ArduCAM/MIPI_Camera/releases/download/v0.0.3/install_full.sh
chmod +x install_full.sh
./install_full.sh -m imx477
The key thing is the IMX477 driver needs a supported L4T/JetPack version. L4T 32.7.4 isn’t currently supported, so the device has to be re-flashed to a supported JetPack version first — after that the driver install should be able to find its deb package and complete.
