Hi all, I’m trying to get an Arducam IMX519 working on a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (rev 1.1). I ran ./install_full.sh -m imx519 and the installer keeps failing with this in the logs: “cannot find the corresponding deb package kernel version: Raspberry pi compute module 4 rev 1.1”. Has anyone run into this before?
Yeah, that separate install script isn’t actually needed for this setup. The deb package lookup is failing because it can’t find a matching kernel package for the CM4 revision string. For Bullseye (6.1.21 and later) and Bookworm, the IMX519 is handled through the device tree overlay instead. Just add dtoverlay=imx519 to config.txt and skip running install_full.sh altogether. The steps are covered here: 16MP IMX519 - Arducam Wiki under the Bullseye/Bookworm section.
Thanks. I added dtoverlay=imx519 to config.txt as the first step and rebooted, but now I just get “no camera available” when I try to use it. A bit more detail: this is an Arducam IMX519, and I’ve tested it on two different Compute Module 4 boards. The same camera works fine on a standard Raspberry Pi 4, so I don’t think it’s a hardware fault with the camera itself.
Good call testing on a Pi 4, that rules out the camera hardware. On the Compute Module the overlay can need the cam0 parameter set explicitly. Try changing the line to dtoverlay=imx519,cam0 in config.txt instead of the plain dtoverlay=imx519. Reboot the Compute Module after that so the change takes effect.
Ah, I hadn’t tried adding the cam0 parameter yet. I’ll update config.txt to dtoverlay=imx519,cam0 and reboot the Compute Module, then check again.
To sum up the current conclusion: skip the install_full.sh script for Bullseye/Bookworm, and on the Compute Module 4 use dtoverlay=imx519,cam0 in config.txt rather than the bare dtoverlay=imx519. The bare entry was enough on the Raspberry Pi 4, but the Compute Module needs the cam0 parameter specified explicitly. Reboot after the change and let us know if “no camera available” still shows up.
