Cannot find the corresponding package, please send the following information to [email protected]
Hardware Revision: d03115
Kernel Version: 5.15.56-v7l+
Package: imx519_kernel_driver_low_speed -- bullseye-v5
You are using an unsupported kernel version, please install the official SD Card image(do not execute rpi-update): https://www.raspberrypi.com/software/operating-systems/
I am on the official SD card image, so I don’t get what’s unsupported here. Any idea what I’m missing?
Thanks for the detailed report, the info you posted is exactly what we need.
Looking at this, the failure is a driver/kernel version mismatch, not a hardware problem. The kernel got updated to a new version recently, and our package for that specific kernel build hadn’t finished being adapted yet. That’s why the installer can’t find a matching package and reports the kernel as unsupported.
So there’s nothing wrong with your setup or the commands you ran. We’re finishing the adaptation for this new kernel version today, and once it’s done we’ll publish the updated package and follow up here so you can retry.
For now, please just wait for the update rather than trying to work around it. And avoid running rpi-update in the meantime, that would only move you onto an even less supported kernel.
Ah OK, that actually makes sense. I was worried the camera or the Pi was faulty.
Here’s the full output again in case it helps you pin down the right package:
Cannot find the corresponding package, please send the following information to [email protected]
Hardware Revision: d03115
Kernel Version: 5.15.56-v7l+
Package: imx519_kernel_driver_low_speed -- bullseye-v5
You are using an unsupported kernel version, please install the official SD Card image(do not execute rpi-update)
Just to confirm the target: it’s an RPi 4B 8GB, Raspbian 32-bit, Arducam 16MP IMX519 Autofocus, kernel 5.15.56-v7l+, and the package it’s looking for is imx519_kernel_driver_low_speed – bullseye-v5.
Is there anything I can do in the meantime? Would downgrading the kernel get me onto a supported version, or is that just going to cause more trouble?
Good question, but I’d hold off on downgrading. Kernel version mismatches are exactly how people end up in a worse spot, and the resolution here isn’t on your side anyway, it’s the package that needs updating.
To recap where things stand:
The new kernel was released very recently and our IMX519 driver hadn’t been adapted to it yet.
That’s why the install fails with “Cannot find the corresponding package” and the unsupported kernel version warning, even on a clean official image.
We’re completing the adaptation and will update the package, then follow up here so you can simply re-run the install.
So please sit tight and don’t run rpi-update. I’ll post back once the adapted package is out.
Quick update, the new kernel has now been adapted and the updated package has been published.
So the earlier problem (driver not yet adapted to kernel 5.15.56-v7l+, package imx519_kernel_driver_low_speed – bullseye-v5) should be gone now. The “Cannot find the corresponding package” / unsupported kernel version error was purely a version mismatch, not a fault in your hardware or image.
Please go ahead and try the install again, re-running the same steps:
With the package now adapted to your kernel, the installer should find and install the matching driver. If anything still fails, post the full output here and we’ll take another look.
