Hi, hoping someone can help. I’ve got an Arducam 12MP IMX477 Motorized Focus High Quality Camera (SKU B0272) that I’m trying to use with my Raspberry Pi, which is mounted on a Voron 3D printer. The problem is the Pi just doesn’t detect the IMX477 sensor at all. No matter what I do it’s like the camera isn’t there. I’ve attached a screenshot of what I’m seeing. I honestly don’t know where to go from here, so any pointers would be appreciated. UC01.png
Hi there, Dion here from the Arducam support team. Sorry you’re running into this. Since the sensor isn’t being detected, we can’t really pin down the cause until we get a diagnostic report from the device itself, so let’s start there. First reboot your Raspberry Pi. Then run these commands:
wget -O arducam-camera-bug-report https://github.com/ketai-dhr/arducam-camera-bug-report/releases/download/tools/arducam-camera-bug-report
chmod +x ./arducam-camera-bug-report
./arducam-camera-bug-report
That’ll generate a file called arducam-bug-report.txt in the current directory. Please attach that file here so we can take a look.
Thanks Dion. Quick question before I run it - does it matter which directory I’m in when I run the tool? And just to confirm, the file gets created in that same folder, right? Also, do you need me to be booted with the desktop or is running it over SSH fine?
Good questions - either works. The tool just dumps its output into whatever directory you’re currently in, so if you’re in your home folder you’ll find arducam-bug-report.txt right there. Running it over SSH is completely fine, no desktop needed. Just make sure you reboot first, then run the three commands in order. Once you’ve got the txt file, attach it here and we’ll dig into why the IMX477 isn’t showing up.
Got it, that makes sense. I’ll reboot the Pi, cd into my home directory and run the commands, then come back with the txt file attached.
Perfect, sounds like a plan. To recap where we are: the IMX477 sensor isn’t being detected on your Raspberry Pi, and until we see the bug report we can’t tell whether it’s a config issue, a connection problem, or something else - so we can’t determine the root cause yet. Once you post the arducam-bug-report.txt we’ll analyze it and take it from there. No other steps needed on your end for now.
