Been trying to get the Arducam IMX477 driver installed on my Jetson Nano Developer Kit and it keeps failing. The command I’m running is ./install_full.sh -m imx477 and it errors out. I’ve attached screenshots of the error below. I also checked the Arducam GitHub repo and there are a few similar open issues, but no clear fix so far.
Can you share more about your setup? Specifically which carrier board you’re using, L4T and kernel version, and whether you’re booting from SD/USB/eMMC. Also, are you following the Quick Start Guide? If you can paste the full terminal output from the failed install, that would help too.
I’m booting from a USB drive because the eMMC storage is too limited.
Yes, I followed the Quick Start Guide at Quick-Start-Guide - Arducam Wiki and the failing command is exactly ./install_full.sh -m imx477. The error is the same as in the screenshots from my first post.
Thanks. Based on that, the SEEED J101 is a third-party carrier board, and it’s known to be incompatible with some Arducam cameras/drivers. On that board I can’t treat the camera as a supported hardware combination. Best next step is to test the camera on the official development kit. If it still fails on the official kit, let us know and we can look into it further.
OK, I moved the camera to another device — an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX Developer Kit. The installer now gets further but then stops with a different message:
Cannot find the corresponding deb package, please send the following information to [email protected]
Kernel version: 5.10.216-tegra-35.6.0-20240828020325
Jetson type: NVIDIA Orin NX Developer Kit
Thanks for the new details. That ‘Cannot find the corresponding deb package’ error usually means the installer doesn’t have a matching driver package for the exact kernel/Jetson type combination you’re running. Before we go further, can you post front and back photos of the Orin NX device/carrier board you’re using now? I want to check for compatibility issues.
Thanks for the photos. After reviewing them, the Orin NX device you’re using is also on a third-party carrier board, so it’s the same compatibility issue as the SEEED J101. That explains why the installer failed on both the Jetson Nano and the Orin NX — the Arducam camera driver isn’t compatible with these third-party boards. The workaround is to use an official/compatible carrier board. If you test on one and it still fails, let us know and we can continue from there.
