Hi everyone, I’m trying to get the ArduCAM IMX477 driver installed on my Jetson Xavier NX but it keeps failing. I’m on Jetpack 5.1 and I downloaded the install script from the MIPI_Camera release v0.0.3 on GitHub. When I run it, it says it cannot find the corresponding deb package. Has anyone seen this before? The camera worked fine when I was messing around with it before, but this is a fresh flash and now the script just won’t complete.
Thanks for the details. That deb package lookup depends on the exact kernel and Jetson type, so could you share a few things? What does uname -r return, and is this a developer kit or a production module? Also, just to confirm, you’re using the script from Release Automatic installation script · ArduCAM/MIPI_Camera · GitHub, right?
Sure. It’s a Xavier NX Developer Kit Version, Jetpack 5.1. Kernel version is 5.10.104-tegra-35.2.1-20230124153320. And yes, I grabbed the install script from the v0.0.3 release page on the MIPI_Camera repo. I ran it exactly as the readme says.
That helps. Can you run the install script again and paste the full output here? The block it prints when it fails usually includes the exact info needed to figure out which deb it’s looking for, and it’ll help confirm whether it’s a missing package for your specific kernel.
Here’s what it prints out:
==================================================================================
Cannot find the corresponding deb package, please send the following information to [email protected]
Kernel version: 5.10.104-tegra-35.2.1-20230124153320
Jetson type: Xavier NX (Developer Kit Version)
It just stops right after that.
That confirms what I suspected. The script is checking for a prebuilt deb that matches your kernel version and Jetson type, and for Jetpack 5.1 on the Xavier NX there simply isn’t one available in the v0.0.3 release. So this isn’t a corrupted download or a bad SD card image — it’s a compatibility issue between the driver and your current Jetpack version.
Ah, that makes sense. So is there any way to force it to install on 5.1, or do I need to go back to a different Jetpack? I’d rather not reflash if I can avoid it, but if the package really doesn’t exist then I guess I don’t have much choice.
There isn’t a supported deb to force for that kernel, so the practical fix is to run the driver on a Jetpack version that the ArduCAM driver actually supports. The ArduCAM Jetson camera docs cover which versions are compatible, and they’re the best reference for matching your Xavier NX to a supported release:

For your setup specifically, the takeaway is: with Jetpack 5.1 (kernel 5.10.104-tegra-35.2.1-20230124153320), the v0.0.3 install script has no matching deb package, so the driver won’t install until you move to a compatible Jetpack version listed in that documentation.
