Hi, I’ve been trying to get an Arducam IMX477 (B024001) working on my Raspberry Pi 4B and I’m completely stuck. Every libcamera or rpicam command I run just returns ‘no camera has been detected’. I’ve never had this camera working, not even once.
That will produce an arducam-bug-report.txt file in the current directory. Send it over (private message is fine) and I’ll take a look at what’s going on.
Okay that’s… unexpected. I rebooted, ran the tool you posted, and for some reason that worked and my camera is working well? I didn’t change anything else.
Wait, what do you mean? Are you saying the camera is working now? Can you confirm what libcamera and rpicam report? And if you have the arducam-bug-report.txt file, please still send it over so we can see what state the system was in.
Yeah, I ran the test script you gave me and the camera got recognized. The ‘no camera has been detected’ error is gone and libcamera and rpicam both see the IMX477 now. I’m not sure why running that tool changed anything, but it’s working.
Good to hear it’s detecting now. To summarize where we are: the ‘no camera has been detected’ error from libcamera/rpicam is gone and the IMX477 is being recognized, but the root cause isn’t fully clear from what we’ve seen so far. If you can still send over the arducam-bug-report.txt privately, I can review it to try to work out what changed. Are there any other problems right now, or is everything else working as expected?
