I’m using an Arducam IMX219 Wide Angle Camera Module on a Jetson Xavier NX. The listing/manual mentions 120fps@720p, but my pipeline dies when I set 120 FPS. The same pipeline works fine at 60 FPS. Does the IMX219 actually support 120 FPS on the Xavier NX? What’s the highest FPS it can actually do?
What exact module is it, and what JetPack/L4T version are you on? Also, can you paste the pipeline command you’re running at 120fps and the error/output? And where exactly did you see the 120fps@720p spec?
It’s the Arducam IMX219 Wide Angle for Jetson Nano, running on the Xavier NX. I’ve been using the standard imx219 camera drivers. I bought it from a third-party seller, and their listing says 120FPS@720P. Screenshots of the claim:

I checked the official Arducam page for this module: https://www.arducam.com/product/b0179-arducam-imx219-wide-angle-camera-module-for-nvidia-jetson-nano/ . 720p@120fps is not listed as a supported mode there. So that 120fps spec is coming from the third-party listing, not from Arducam’s own specs. That would explain why 60fps works and 120fps fails.
That makes sense. So is there another module I can use if I actually need 120fps on the Xavier NX?
For higher frame rate work we usually suggest the Arducam OV9281 MIPI global shutter camera: Arducam OV9281 1MP Global Shutter NoIR Camera Module for Jetson Nano . Just be aware it only reaches about 80fps at 720p on Jetson, so it still won’t do 120fps at 720p.
Is the OV9281 supported on the Xavier NX? And are there any other global shutter options for Xavier NX with higher FPS and resolution?
I’d go by the UCTRONICS product page for the current specs rather than a third-party seller’s page - those can be outdated or wrong. As for global shutter options, the OV9281 is the best frame rate we have for Jetson Xavier NX. I haven’t found a global shutter camera that exceeds the OV9281 frame rate while remaining compatible with the Xavier NX.
