Arducam camera resolution issues, drivers possibly not installed correctly

Hi everyone, I’m having trouble with my Arducam camera on my Jetson. The resolutions are all over the place — I can’t get the camera to output at the resolutions I’d expect. I have a feeling the drivers didn’t install correctly, because the resolution behavior just seems wrong. I generated a bug report and attached it here (arducam-bug-report.txt). Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, thanks for the report — I’ll take a look at the log you attached. In the meantime, could you describe what you mean by ‘problems with the resolutions’? Which resolution are you trying to set, and what actually happens when you try — does it fail to open, give a distorted image, output the wrong size, or something else? Also, what Jetson model and L4T/JetPack version are you running?

I’m not 100% sure of all the version details off the top of my head, but the bug report file (arducam-bug-report.txt) should have that info in it. Basically when I try to set a resolution, the output doesn’t match what I asked for, or it just doesn’t behave the way it should. I assumed it had to be a driver problem, which is why I grabbed the report.

I went through your arducam-bug-report.txt. Good news: the log shows the Jetson is able to receive data from the camera, so basic connectivity and data transfer are working — that means the driver is at least loaded and talking to the sensor. So it’s probably not a complete driver failure.

That said, I can’t tell from the log alone what exactly is going wrong with the resolution. Could you clarify a bit more? For example:

  • Which resolution(s) are you trying to set?
  • What command or API are you using to set them?
  • What actually happens — an error message, wrong output size, blank frame, etc.?

Right now the root cause isn’t pinned down yet, but since the Jetson can receive data from the camera, this looks more like a resolution configuration issue than a fully broken driver install. Once you share the specifics, I can dig into it further.
