Hi everyone. I’m trying to use the Arducam camarray HAT (SKU: B0331) with a Jetson Xavier NX, and I’m running into a video driver detection problem. I followed Arducam’s guide to install the driver, but I keep getting the same error that’s shown in the attached material. Has anyone else hit this on the Xavier NX?
Thanks for the report. A few things to narrow this down: which JetPack/L4T version are you on, and can you post the exact error output? Also, right after boot, run ls /dev/video* and dmesg | grep -i video and share what you get. That’ll tell us whether the driver is failing to probe or the device isn’t being enumerated at all.
I’m on the JetPack version recommended in Arducam’s guide for the Xavier NX. Attached the error output here: symptom_SKU_B0331_does_not_detect.pdf. ls /dev/video* returns nothing, and the driver doesn’t seem to bind at all. The error in the PDF is exactly what I get when I run the camera detect step.
Got it. For reference, we re-flashed the same JetPack version here and installed the camera driver using the same steps, and the camarray HAT is detected without any issue. Since it works on our side with the same image and driver, this is looking environment- or configuration-specific rather than a driver fault. Could you check whether the camarray device-tree overlay is actually applied, and run an I2C scan on the camera bus to see if the HAT shows up?
Checked both. The overlay doesn’t look like it’s applied, and the I2C scan comes back empty on the expected bus. I re-ran the driver install script from scratch and still get the same error from the PDF. Nothing in ls /dev/video* either.
Thanks for checking. We couldn’t reproduce the detection issue on our side with the same JetPack version and camera driver, so the root cause is still open. It’s very likely something specific to your Xavier NX’s environment or configuration rather than the driver itself, so I’d like to inspect the device directly to compare the setup.
To sum up where we are: the same JetPack version and camera driver detect the camarray HAT fine on our bench, so the problem appears specific to your Jetson Xavier NX configuration. Root cause isn’t determined yet. I’ve sent the remote access details through private message. Please check your messages and get the remote client installed on the NX so we can connect and look at it directly.
