Arducam B0274 doesnt work however B0250 does

  1. Where did you get the camera module(s)?
Both were obtained from Amazon, sold by UCTRONICS

  2. Model number of the product(s)?
    B0274 and B0250

  3. What hardware/platform were you working on?
    Nvidia Jetson Nano 4GB/Seeed Studio re-Computer J1020
    Nvidia Jetpack 4.6.2

  4. Instructions you have followed. (link/manual/etc.)
    wget https://github.com/ArduCAM/MIPI_Camera/releases/download/v0.0.3/install_full.sh
    chmod +x ./install_full.sh
    ./install_full.sh -m imx477

  5. Problems you were having?
The B0250 camera works, however the B0274 does not. I’ve tried connecting the B0274 directly to the Jetson with multiple CSI cables, and also with a Arducam CSI to HDMI extension which was working with the B2050.

  6. The dmesg log from your hardware?
    B0274
[email protected]:~$ dmesg | grep imx

  1. Troubleshooting attempts you’ve made?
Trying other similar IMX477 cameras such as the B0274, trying other CSI cables, trying both CSI ports on the board.

  2. What help do you need?
I need to get the B0274 to work for the ability to remove the IR filter on demand which the B0250 can not do

@burnettm

Sorry, Seeed Studio re-Computer J1020 is a third party carrier board and is not supported by us.

We are now finding that it is very stable on the official kit, but often does not work on third-party carrier boards.

It’s not easy to say if this is because of a problem with the third-party carrier board, or a problem with our camera.

If you want, you can send us your development board and we will help you debug it.

Why yes, let me just ship some hardware to Hong Kong and hope you can make it work, rather than just return what is likely a defective board to amazon or let you spend the CapEx for your product development. For fucks sakes you people are so fucking cheap you cant even bother to practice ESD safety and put these cameras is ESD shielded bags, let alone all the defective handling during manufacture. But certainly it must be Seeed Studio’s fault the camera doesnt work, and not your own for your poor quality control. There is a reason why I bought it through Amazon, so I could return it no questions asked if it turned out to be defective. For fucks sakes, you could at least reach out to Seeed Studio and ask them for a schematic to see if it differs from Nvidia’s dev kit which is currently absolutely impossible to purchase new for less than 3x MSRP. You should be embarrassed for giving such a response to a support incident.
