Arducam B0223 driver install fails on Jetson Xavier NX: missing deb package

Hey everyone, I’m hitting a wall trying to get my Arducam B0223 camera working on a Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit. I’m running the Jetvariety driver installation script and it keeps failing with this:

Cannot find the corresponding deb package, please send the following information to [email protected]
Kernel version: 5.10.216-tegra-35.6.1-20250304015758
Jetson type: NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit

Here’s what I’m on:

  • Kernel: 5.10.216-tegra-35.6.1-20250304015758
  • Board: NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit
  • Camera: Arducam B0223

Anyone know if there’s a compatible driver package for this kernel version? The script just can’t seem to find one.

Thanks for sharing the full error output. Looking at your kernel version — 5.10.216-tegra-35.6.1 — this maps to a JetPack 5.x release. The Jetvariety script works by matching pre-built deb packages against your kernel version and Jetson model, and it seems we don’t have a package built for this particular kernel/JetPack combination yet.

Just to double-check — can you confirm this is a Jetson Xavier NX and not an Orin NX? The kernel string is consistent with both and I want to make sure we’re looking at the right board before digging further.

It’s definitely a Jetson Xavier NX, not an Orin NX. Here are some photos of my setup:

You can see the module markings in the shots. Let me know if anything looks off.

Thanks for the photos — that helps a lot. So I can confirm that’s a Xavier NX module, but I also notice you’re using a third-party carrier board, not the official NVIDIA developer kit carrier.

Before we go further down the driver compatibility rabbit hole, I’d recommend testing the camera on the official NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit carrier board if you have access to one. Third-party carrier boards can introduce all sorts of hardware-level issues — CSI lane routing differences, power delivery quirks, I2C address conflicts — that can make the camera fail even with the correct driver. We need to rule that out first.

Fair point. I went ahead and picked up an official NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit (the 16GB RAM variant) to rule out the carrier board.

Just finished flashing it and ran the Jetvariety script again. Unfortunately, same exact error:

Cannot find the corresponding deb package, please send the following information to [email protected]
Kernel version: 5.10.216-tegra-35.6.1-20250304015758
Jetson type: NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit

Here’s the official devkit:

So it’s definitely not a third-party hardware issue. I’m starting to think there simply isn’t a driver package built for this kernel version. Is the latest JetPack 5 not supported yet?

Okay, that confirms it — the third-party carrier board was a red herring. The root cause is exactly what you suspected: there is no pre-built Arducam driver deb package matching your specific JetPack version and kernel build.

The kernel 5.10.216-tegra-35.6.1-20250304015758 is a very recent JetPack 5.x point release, and the Jetvariety script simply doesn’t have a corresponding package for it yet.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Re-flash your Xavier NX to a JetPack version that is officially listed as supported for the B0223 camera. You can find the supported versions list here:
Introduction to Arducam Jetson Cameras - Arducam Wiki

  2. After flashing a supported JetPack version, re-run the Jetvariety driver installation script — it should then find the matching deb package and proceed normally.

Essentially you’re just on a kernel build that’s ahead of what the driver packages currently cover. Rolling back to a supported JetPack release will get things working.
