Hi, I’m trying to get the Arducam Autofocus 64MP camera working on an NVIDIA Jetson Orin, but it just won’t operate. I can’t get any image or even get it recognized properly. Has anyone run into this on the Orin platform? Need some assistance.
Thanks for reaching out. To narrow this down, could you share a bit more about your environment? Specifically: which Jetson Orin board (Orin AGX, Orin Nano, etc.), JetPack/L4T version, and how you have the camera connected? Also, if you have any dmesg output, v4l2-ctl --list-devices, or the code you’re using to open the camera, that would help.
It’s the NVIDIA Jetson Orin (I’ve also been testing on a Jetson Orin Nano). I’m running a recent JetPack. The camera doesn’t show up in the device list and I get nothing when I try to capture. I don’t have a specific error log handy, and I haven’t gotten far enough to write much code since the camera never initializes.
Appreciate the details. I reviewed the reported setup against the supported hardware list for the Jetson Orin line. Unfortunately, this looks like a compatibility issue rather than a wiring or driver problem.
To be direct: the Arducam Autofocus 64MP camera is incompatible with the NVIDIA Jetson Orin platform. That would explain why it’s not being detected or operating at all, even though the board and JetPack themselves may be fine.
Ah, that’s a bummer. In that case, could you point me to which Arducam camera modules are actually compatible with the Jetson Orin Nano? I’d rather switch to something that’s officially supported.
Sure. For the Jetson Orin Nano (and NX), the best place to check is the Arducam documentation for the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Series. The product section lists the compatible camera modules. You can find it here: Introduction - Arducam Wiki
Quick summary of where we landed: the Autofocus 64MP camera is not supported on the Jetson Orin platform, which matches the symptoms you’re seeing. For the Orin Nano, refer to the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Series (Nano & NX) Introduction docs linked above and pick a module from the compatible product list. If you have questions about a specific module from that list, feel free to post back.
