Getting the cam standalone and the HAT to work.
Exact the same problem here with 32 Bit OS 2022-04-04. Also trying a standalone 64mp from the hat package. I also tried 32 Bit OS 2022-01-28 there i get another error:

My fault, I didn’t see your product model clearly. If you’re using a 64MP QuadCamera, you’re not using a camera independently. You must use our adapter.
I see. On preordering i didnt see that note. The site seems to have changed a litlle I was thinking i can use them indepentdently. If i for example only need 2 cameras for one project the other 2 are unusable without an extra hat. Can that be changed? Is it a Firmware thing or are they wired differently?

Yes, the firmware used with a microcontroller and a single camera is not the same.
If you only want to use two, we also have corresponding models.

Your first question: there is a way, the camera must be sent back now, but we have plans to do remote support.
The second question: the role of the USB C interface is to supply power, you can also use the pin to supply power, our tutorial should write it. Just choose one of the two.

If Yes: What exactly is the difference?
If No: What do you mean by ‘this part’
From earlier posts i thought hardware on camera-side is the same.
I dont really want to upgrade anything. I would like to reflash only the camera boards by my self if possible. I find it a bit nebulous ‘may not be’ so the question i have:
Is it possible or not?
If Yes: is the information about the process or the firmware itself confidential and thus the reason why we “may not” do it. Or does one need extra hardware/software builds to perform the change?

Yes.There is a difference between the camera hardware used on the hat and the camera used alone. I can’t directly tell you how to modify the hardware, it’s dangerous and can easily damage the camera. You can contact [email protected] to inquire about specific modification methods. The reason for asking the email is because if you insist on modifying the hardware yourself, you may need to know some disclaimers and other documents, please forgive me for my behavior.
I could tell you unequivocally that this is not possible without modifying the hardware.
