I’ve got both versions of the Arducam 64MP — the CSI version (B0399) and the USB version (B0475) — and I’m trying to get either of them working on a Raspberry Pi 4B that’s running Android. Specifically I’m using Emteria’s Android port on top of Linux. The camera won’t initialize properly, so Android never makes it available through the Camera2 API. Just to be clear, I’m not trying to use this on an Arduino platform. Has anyone managed to get this camera working in any Android-based environment, preferably Emteria’s port on the Pi 4B? I need the higher resolution this sensor offers.
The 64mp camera can only work on Raspberry Pi platform now, and it can not work on Arduino.
Just to clarify again — I am not attempting to use it on an Arduino platform. I am trying to use it on a Raspberry Pi 4B running Android (on top of Linux).
Oh, sorry for the careless. I should have written Android, but I’m used to writing Arduino. I need to state that the camera is not compatible with Android OS. We do not have a plan to release the camera driver for it.
Okay, that’s disappointing. So is there any Android build at all where either the CSI or USB version would show up in Camera2? I was hoping there might be another Android platform or some community driver, since the higher resolution is the whole reason I picked this sensor.
Correct — there is no Android camera driver available for the 64MP sensor, so it won’t enumerate through Camera2 on Emteria or any other Android build running on the Pi 4B. Both the B0399 (CSI) and B0475 (USB) versions are only supported on the Raspberry Pi platform with native Linux. Right now there is no Android solution for either version, and we have no plan to release a camera driver for Android OS.
