Hi everyone, I’m trying to incorporate the Arducam 5MP OV5647 Camera Module with M12 Lens (the one for Raspberry Pi 4/3/3 B+) into a prototype. I grabbed the 3D model file (STP/STEP) from the product page here: https://www.arducam.com/product/arducam-5mp-m12-picam/ but I can’t open it in any modelling software I’ve tried. It just looks corrupt. Has anyone else hit this? I’d really appreciate an alternative format like IGES, Parasolid, or even just a re-exported STP/STEP.
Thanks for the details. The drawing for that 5MP OV5647 M12 module is labelled B0031. I’ve found an alternative download for the B0031 STEP file — can you try this link and let me know if it behaves any differently? https://www.uctronics.com/download/Mechanical_Drawing/B0031.STP
Just tried it. Downloaded B0031.STP from that link and unfortunately it’s the same file with the same issue — still won’t open in any of the CAD apps I have, still looks corrupt.
Thanks for checking. I’m afraid we can’t provide the correct B0031 drawing right now — the original source file appears to have been lost, so there’s no clean copy to hand out. If you already have the physical camera module in hand, the quickest path is to create the drawing from measurements of the actual unit. If you don’t have the product yet, I can send you a contact form to fill out with your requirements; once we get the completed form back, we can ask the engineering team to generate a new 3D drawing for B0031. I’ll send the form over by private message.
I don’t have the unit in hand yet, so the form route makes sense for me. I’ll watch for your private message and get it filled out.
Sounds good. Quick recap so it’s all in one place: the original B0031 STEP file on the product page is corrupt, the alternate link points to that same file, and the source drawing was lost, so there’s no corrected file available to share right now. I’ve sent the contact form via private message — once you return it with your requirements, the engineering team will be asked to create a new 3D drawing for B0031. In the meantime, if you end up with the physical module before that, you can always base your own model on measurements of the actual unit.
