Hi everyone. I recently got an ArduCAM 12MP IMX477 HQ Camera for my Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit. I’m trying to run the automatic driver installation script, but it can’t find the required driver during setup. It just stops at the driver step. Has anyone else run into this?
Hey, sorry you’re hitting this. Can you post your exact kernel version and confirm the Jetson model? Also, if the installer prints anything specific, that would help narrow it down.
Sure. Kernel is 4.9.253-tegra-32.7.1-2022021909344, and the board is a Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit Version. The installer basically says it can’t find a matching driver for my kernel and exits. I also looked on the Arducam GitHub, and I don’t see a driver for this exact kernel there either.
Thanks for the details. Before going further, have you looked at the Arducam Jetson Native Camera Quick Start Guide? There’s an “Install Driver” section in there that’s the main reference for the native camera driver setup. That’s usually the best place to start with this kind of failure.
I did skim the guide, but I’m still stuck. The automatic install keeps failing at the driver lookup, and since GitHub doesn’t show a driver for 4.9.253-tegra-32.7.1-2022021909344, I’m not sure if I need a different branch or a manual install step.
The recommended path right now is to work through the official Arducam Jetson Native Camera Quick Start Guide, specifically the Install Driver section: Quick-Start-Guide - Arducam Wiki
To summarize where we are: you’re on a Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit with kernel 4.9.253-tegra-32.7.1-2022021909344, using the ArduCAM 12MP IMX477 HQ Camera. The automatic installer could not find a driver for that kernel, and a matching driver wasn’t showing on GitHub. The current next step is to follow the Install Driver section in that guide and see whether the manual steps get the driver installed. If it still fails after that, we’ll need to dig into the exact command/output from that section.
