Where did you get the camera module(s)?
I got the camera module from the Arducam website
https://www.arducam.com/product/108mp-usb-3-camera-evaluation-kit/ -
Model number of the product(s)?
SKU: EK030 -
What hardware/platform were you working on?
I’m working on the Raspberry Pi 5 running the latest OS Bookworm.
I’m running all the code in the Thonny IDE -
Instructions you have followed. (link/manual/etc.)
I downloaded the required USB drivers off of github by running the udev_configure_rules script
I installed the two libraries ArducamSDK and arducam_config_parser
GitHub - ArduCAM/ArduCAM_USB_Camera_Shield_Python_Demo
I downloaded the arducam_demo python script, and modified the code to simply define an arducam camera object. I gave the openCamera function the cfg file. Then I say camera.start().
It would print: Capture Began, Error: USB_CAMERA_NO_ERROR
Which means the camera has successfully started up.
The problem appears when trying to initiate an camera.read() function -
Problems you were having?
When I use the camera.read() function, a USB timeout error appears
It would print: Error capture image : USB_CAMERA_USB_TIMEOUT_ERROR -
Troubleshooting attempts you’ve made?
I tried this camera on a windows 11 pc with the GUI. I downloaded the drivers, and cfg files.
The GUI recognizes the camera, and also loads the cfg file successfully.
The second i press Play, it has a USB TIMEOUT ERROR
It seems to have the same issue on both windows and raspberry pi -
What help do you need?
What can be done to rectify this error? Is there something I’m missing?
