Accidentally erased firmware on Arducam USB UVC webcam

Hi everyone, I’m in a bit of a panic here. I accidentally erased the firmware on my Arducam USB UVC Webcam and now it’s basically a paperweight. The camera is no longer recognized properly by my PC. Is there any way to recover from this? Has anyone dealt with this before? I saw a few older threads but nothing that matched my exact situation. Any help would be really appreciated.

Don’t worry, this is recoverable. I’m going to send you a new SN editor which should work perfectly with this camera. However, before we get to that step, we need to get the firmware restored first — the SN editor won’t help if the camera isn’t running. I’ve sent you a private message with the firmware restoration steps and the necessary files. Please check your messages and follow the instructions in there.

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked my messages — I see your message but I’m sorry, I didn’t find any files attached to it. The message mentions referring to an attached file but there’s nothing there. Could you double-check on your end?

Ah, that’s frustrating — looks like the forum’s messaging system stripped the attachment. I went ahead and re-uploaded the firmware update package to Google Drive instead. I’ve sent you a new private message with the download link. You should see it now. Grab the file from there, follow the steps inside to flash the firmware, and let me know once the camera is back up and running — then we’ll move forward with the SN editor.

Just following up — you should have a private message from me now with a Google Drive link to the firmware update file. Download that, go through the steps in the included instructions, and confirm back here whether the camera restores successfully. Once you’re restored, I’ll get you set up with the new SN editor right away.
